During your stay at “La Letizia”, thanks to its strategic location, you can visit a lot of really great places, ancient towns and villages, and you can also indulge in many activities. Surrounded by fields and away from the noise of the main road, “La Letizia” is very well connected, easily accessible and is located in a very convenient spot for visiting a large area of Tuscany and Umbria via easily accessible roads: Perugia is about an hour’s drive away and so is the famous Trasimeno lake.
Driving north for one hour and a half you can reach Volterra or San Gimignano (known as the city of 100 towers, because in the past each noble family built towers ever increasing in height on their home to symbolise their wealth and power. Today only 13 of the 72 old towers remain).
There are also a lot of nice places to visit which are a lot closer to “La Letizia”, for example Monte San Savino, the Gargonza castle, Calcione woods, Foiano and Sinalunga.
So, come, explore Tuscany and find your own way!
Lucignano, pearl of the valdichiana, is a small village which represents one of the more extraordinary examples of medieval urban planning for its system of elliptic rings which have remained intact over the centuries. Lucignano is in an idyllic geographical position, 414m above sea level in the territory of Tuscany. A door, now closed, on the entrance wall of the city, reminds us that it was once the access to the jails under the Town Hall. In the room there is a showcase with the “Golden Tree” or “Tree of Life” or “Tree of Lucignano”. For a full list of Lucignano’s events click here.
